Description
The Port Noarlunga Hotel was constructed in 1932 on the former property of Frederick Charles Pocock, incorporating an existing guest house, Milliara. Description
View of Crown Hotel featuring creek bed and bridge. This was one of the earliest buildings constructed in the township of Reynella, which was opened up for town allotments by John Reynell in 1854. The Crown Inn as it was first known was established in 1855 by Robert Hay (circa 1826-1862), the second publican, who had previously been associated with the Victoria Hotel at Tapleys Hill. Hay died on 20 January 1862 and the hotel passed through many different managers over the years. The hotel was an important meeting and watering place for locals, and travellers and coaches on route to the south, located across the road from the horse old changing station.
